Vamos dar continuidade ao nosso estudo sobre conversações.
Tenham em mente a importância desta prática, pois é neste momento que você vai se adaptar com diálogos, vai compreender palavras e expressões e conseguir se comunicar, responder, formando conversas fluídas e trabalhando o spoken english, ou seja, o inglês do dia a dia, natural, falado rápido.
Repita o processo de estudo:
1 - Ouça sem fazer a leitura e tente compreender o máximo possível.
2 - Depois ouça enquanto faz a leitura e associa as palavras que ouve com as que lê, repetindo a pronúncia em voz alta.
3 - Por último, faça a leitura das conversações sem ouvir o áudio, apenas repetindo a pronúncia que acabou de aprender e colocando em prática.
Estes 3 simples passos treinam seu cérebro e tornam seu estudo muito mais produtivo, eficiente e lhe traz os melhores resultados.

41 - The food tastes great.
Patrick: Você gostou da comida? / How do you like the food?
Diane: O sabor é ótimo. Você cozinhou? / It tastes really great. Did you cook it?
Patrick: Sim, eu fiz nesta tarde. Você gostaria de mais? / Yes. I made it this afternoon. Would you like some more?
Diane: OK, só mais um pouco. Eu estou realmente satisfeita. / OK, just a little though. I’m really full.
Patrick: Você gostaria de uma sopa ao invés? / Oh. Would you like some soup instead?
Diane: De que tipo é? / What kind is it?
Patrick: Tomate e arroz. Você já experimentou? / Tomato and rice. Have you had that before?
Diane: Não. É a primeira vez. Que sabor tem? / No. This is my first time. How does it taste?
Patrick: É muito boa, experimente. O que você acha? / It’s good, try it. What do you think?
Diane: Uau. É boa. Você que fez também? / Wow. It is good. Did you make that also?
Patrick: Sim. / Yes.
Diane: Você é mesmo um ótimo cozinheiro. / You’re a really good cook.
Patrick: Obrigado, da próxima vez farei sopa de frango pra gente. / Thanks, next time I’ll make chicken soup for us.
Diane: Isso parece bom. Você estuda culinária na escola? / That sounds good. Did you study cooking in school?
Patrick: Não eu aprendí sozinho. Eu tenho um ótimo livro de receitas e eu leio quando tenho tempo. / No, I learned by myself. I have a good cook book that I read when I have time.
42 - Helping a friend to move.
Peter: Kelly, você me ajuda a levar estas coisas para o carro? / Kelly, will you help me take these things to the car?
Kelly: OK, em que carro você quer que eu as coloque? / OK, which car do you want me to put them in?
Peter: Leve-as para o carro da minha esposa. / Bring them to my wife’s car.
Kelly: Qual é o dela? / Which one is hers’?
Peter: A caminhonete azul na frente do Honda. / The blue SUV in front of the Honda.
Kelly: O que eu deveria levar primeiro? / What should I take first?
Peter: Aquela cadeira alí, mas por favor tenha cuidado com ela. Foi um presente da minha sogra. / That chair over there, but please be careful with it. It was a gift from my mother-in-law.
Kelly: Não se preocupe, eu não vou derrubá-la. Uau, é bem pesada. Eu não acho que consiga movê-la sozinha. / Don’t worry, I won’t drop it. Wow, it’s really heavy. I don’t think I can move it by myself.
Peter: Deixe-me ajudá-la com isso. Eu não quero que você machuque suas costas. / Let me help you with that. I don’t want you to hurt your back.
Kelly: Aonde você está levando todas estas coisas? / Where are you taking all this stuff?
Peter: Eu não te contei? Nós estamos nos mudando para a Flórida. / Didn’t I tell you? We’re moving to Florida?
Kelly: Vocês estão se mudando agora? Eu sabia que vocês estavam se mudando mas eu pensei vocês terem dito que iriam se mudar no próximo mês. / You’re moving now? I knew you were moving, but I thought you said you were moving next month.
Peter: Sim, é verdade, mas minha esposa encontrou um apartamento novo na Internel outro dia e ela que se mudar agora. / Yes, that’s true, but my wife found a new apartment on the Internet the other day and she wants to move right away.
43 - Visiting my family.
Henry: Judy, seu marido tem um ótimo carro. / Judy, your husband has a really nice car.
Judy: Obrigada É bem melhor que o meu, e é novo. / Thanks. It’s a lot better than mine, and it’s new.
Henry: Onde vocês estão indo? / Where are you going?
Judy: Nós vamos visitar minha irmã na cidade. / We’re going to visit my sister in the city.
Henry: Eu não sabia que tua irmã morava na cidade, quando ela se mudou pra lá? / I didn’t know your sister lives in the city, when did she move there?
Judy: Mais ou menos há um ano. Ela mora num apartamento na rua terceira, do outro lado da biblioteca pública. / About a year ago. She lives in an apartment on 3rd street, across from the public library.
Henry: Sei. São quase 17h agora, você não acha que vai pegar muito tráfego? / I see. It’s almost 5:00 PM now, don’t you think there will be a lot of traffic?
Judy: Nós não vamos dirigindo. Nós vamos de metrô. O metrô leva uns 20 minutos. / Oh, we’re not driving. We’re going to take the subway. The subway only takes about 20 minutes.
Henry: Sim, mas pode ser bem lotado neste horário. Eu sempre me sinto inconfortável / Yes, but it can be very crowded around this time. I always feel uncomfortable taking the subway.
Judy: Eu pego o metrô pra trabalhar todos os dias, então estou acostumada com ele agora. / I take the subway to work everyday, so I’m used to it now.
Henry: A tua mãe vive na cidade? / Doesn’t your mother live in the city?
Judy: Sim, ele mora lá há uns dez anos. / Yes, she’s lived there for about ten years.
Henry: Eu me lembro quando ela se mudou pra lá. Os apartamentos eram bem mais baratos. / I remember when she moved there. Apartments were a lot cheaper then.
Judy: Eu sei o que você quer dizer. É difícil encontrar qualquer coisa razoável agora. / I know what you mean. It’s hard to find anything that’s reasonable now.
Henry: Divirta-se. Da próxima vez que você estiver livre, me ligue e vamos jogar poquer. / Have a good time. Next time you’re free, give me a call and we’ll go play poker.
Judy: Te vejo mais tarde. / See you later.
44 - Looking at the vacation pictures.
Kathy: Jim, eu ouví que você foi a São Diego. É verdade? / Jim, I heard you took a trip to San Diego. Is that right?
Jim: Sim, voltei esta manhã. / Yeah, I just got back this morning.
Kathy: Nossa, que legal. O que você fez lá? / That sounds really nice. What did you do there?
Jim: Bem, nós só estivemos lá por três dias, então nós não fizemos muito. Fomos às compras e saímos para jantar algumas vezes. A noite saíamos pra passear pela cidade com alguns amigos. / Well, we were only there for three days, so we didn’t do too much. We went shopping and went out to dinner a few times. At night we walked around the city with some friends.
Kathy: Você tirou fotos? / Did you take any pictures?
Jim: Sim, eu as tenho comigo. Você quer vê-las? / Yes, I have them with me. Do you want to look at them?
Kathy: Claro, eu adoro ver fotos. / Sure, I love looking at photos.
Jim: Esta aqui é de minha esposa e eu na praia, e esta é de nossa filha Emily ao lado de minha esposa. / This one is of my wife and me on the beach, and this one is our daughter Emily standing next to my wife.
Kathy: Sua filha se parece com sua mulher. / Your daughter looks like her mother.

Kathy: Parece que você se divertiu. / It looks like you all had a nice time.

45 - Ordering flowers.
Receptionist: Boa tarde, como posso ajudar? / Good afternoon, how may I help you?
Ryan: Oi, eu gostaria de encomendar algumas flores. / Hi, I’d like to order some flowers.
Receptionist: Para quem são? / Who are they for?
Ryan: São para minha esposa. O nome dela é Samantha. / They’re for my Wife. Her name is Samantha.
Receptionist: Que tipo de flores você gostaria? / What kind of flowers would you like?
Ryan: Eu não sei. Eu não conheço muito de flores. Você pode recomendar alguma coisa? / I don’t know. I don’t know too much about flowers. Can you recommend something?
Receptionist: OK. Qual a razão para o envio das flores? / OK. What’s the reason you are sending her flowers?
Ryan: Hoje é o aniversário dela e ela me disse que queria que eu comprasse flores pra ela. / Today’s her birthday and she told me she wants me to buy her flowers.
Receptionist: Você sabe que tipo de flores ela gosta? / Do you know what kind of flowers she likes?
Ryan: Eu não tenho certeza. Eu sei que eu deveria saber mas eu não consigo me lembrar agora. / I’m not sure. I know I should know that, but I can’t remember right now.
Receptionist: Bem, elas são para sua esposa então eu penso que você deveria dar-lhe rosas. / Well, they’re for your wife, so I think you should give her roses.
Ryan: Rosas está ótimo. / Roses will be fine.
Receptionist: De que cor? / What color?
Ryan: Eu acho que vermelhas seria bom. / I think red would be nice.

Jack: Oi, a Heather está por favor? / Hi, is Heather there please?
Laura: Lamento, acho que você discou o número errado. / Sorry, I think you have the wrong number.
Jack: É 617-228-2289 ? / Is this 617-228-2289 ?
Laura: Sim. Quem você está procurando mesmo? / Yes. Who are you looking for again?
Jack: Heather Johnson. / Heather Johnson.

47 - Talking about the weather.
Tina: Alô? / Hello?
Joe: Oi Tina, é o Joe. / Hi Tina, It’s Joe.
Tina: Oi Joe / Hi Joe.
Joe: Como está o tempo aí hoje? / How’s the weather there today?
Tina: Está bem frio. Nevou o dia todo e as escolas fecharam cedo. / It’s really cold. It snowed all day and the schools closed early.
Joe: Qual é a temperatura? / What’s the temperature?
Tina: Está 30 (-1C) graus agora. Estava ainda mais frio pela manhã. / It’s 30 degrees now. It was even colder this morning.
Joe: Você sabe como vai estar o tempo amanhã? / Have you heard what the weather is going to be like tomorrow?
Tina: Eu estava assistindo às notícias mais cendo. Eles disseram que provavelmente vai nevar amanhã. / I was watching the news a little earlier. They said it’s probably going to snow tomorrow.
Joe: Eu realmente não gosto de inverno. Eu gostaria que fosse verão. / I really don’t like the winter. I wish it were summer.

Tom: É quase Natal. O que você vai fazer neste final de semana? / It’s almost Christmas. What are you doing this weekend?
Sara: Nada de especial, apenas trabalhar. Por que você pergunta? / Nothing special, just working. Why do you ask?
Tom: Bem, eu ainda não teminei minha compras de Natal. Você quer ir às compras comigo neste final de semana? / Well, I still haven’t finished my Christmas shopping. Do you want to go shopping with me this weekend?
Sara: Eu gostaria mas não sei se posso. Ultimamente tenho estado muito ocupada no trabalho. Por não vamos na sexta? / I’d like to, but I’m not sure if I can. Work has been really busy lately. Why don’t we go on Friday instead?

50 - I'm a student.
Rachel: Craig, no que você trabalha? / Craig, what do you do for work?
Craig: Eu ainda sou estudante. / I’m still a student.
Rachel: Em que escola você vai? / What school do you go to?
Craig: Na Universidade de Boston / Boston University.
Rachel: É uma boa escola. O que você estuda? / That’s a good school. What do you study?
Craig: Eu estou estudando inglês, matemática e história. Minha especialização é em inglês. / I’m studying English, math, and history. My major is English.
